Shri. Goutam Banerjee is an eminent vocalist of the Hindustani Classical genre of Indian Classical Music. He was fortunate to have been trained in Khayal & Thumri in the illustrious Sangeetacharya Tarapada Chakraborty – Pandit Manas Chakraborty Gharana.
Shri. Banerjee has also been a disciple of the legendary Late Ustad Nasir Aminuddin Khan Dagar of the Dagar Gharana, who taught him the Dhrupad and Dhamar styles of Indian Classical Music.
Shri. Banerjee has performed at programmes like the Dover Lane Music Conference; programmes organized by the Sangeet Research Academy and the Sarva Bharatiya Sangeet Samaj and programmes in Gwalior and Varanasi.The other interest of Shri. Banerjee includes composing Bandishes in Khayal and Dhrupad.
Currently, he teaches Indian Classical Music at 'The Music Centre' of the Kolkata Police Family Welfare Centre.
