Sampurna, a young and talented vocalist was born on 20th October, 1992 in a family with musical heritage and spiritual environment. Her grandfather Lt. Birendra Narayan Goswami and her maternal grandfather Lt. Shyaamlal Banerjee were eminent singers of their time.
She started her learning process in classical music at the age of six under the guidance of famous singer and trainer Shri Suvodeep Mukherjee. During this time span she participated in local and district level competitions and stood with flying colours. In 2004 she participated in chutir mejaj in ATN Kolkata, in the same year she did her first playback singing under the music direction of Mr. Kalyan Sen Barat in a telefilm. In 2005 she became the 1st runner up in E TV Bangla “tarana”. In 2006 she participated in Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and was among the top 10. In the same year she acquired the Jharkhand Junior Champion Title, earning praises not only from the judges and audiences but also from the press. In 2006 she also participated in Star Plus antakshari to represent the eastern India in Mumbai. From 2006 onward she began her specialisation in light classical music (bhajan) under the guidance of Shri. Pankaj Kumar Jha an eminent vocalist of Jharkhand.
