Indrani's great artistic temperament and exceptional aesthetic sensibility has left an incredible impression on the minds of her audiences and critics alike.

Initially started learning with her Mother, Aunt and her maternal grandfather Shri Sanjib Banerjee. In 1996, Indrani was selected as a scholar of the prestigious ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata and came under the able guidance of Pandit Arun Bhaduri. For 10 years, she pursued her learning with the late Vidushi Purnima Chaudhuri Ji,a great exponent of Benaras Gharana. She also took talim for few years with the late Pandit Ramashray Jha Ji of Allahabad. Since last 2 years Indrani started leraning with Vidushi Manju Sundaram Ji of Varanasi.

Indrani is the regular performer in All India Radio and Television. She is also a graduate from Burdwan University.

Beside performing important concerts and Festivals in India, Indrani has performed major concerts and Festivals in USA, Canada, Europe and the Middle East, represented India in some important Festivals like - Magie dex Voix (France). International Mugam Festival (Baku, Azerbaijan), Oriental Landscape Festival (Damascus,Syria), to name a few.

Beside teaching in India, she also conducted vocal workshops in Auroville (Pondichery), Ali Akbar College of Music ( Basel, Switzerland),France, Germany and Damascus (Higher Institute of Music, Syria).
