Dawn to Dusk

Born in a music-loving family, Hindol has received his initial training from his mother, Smt. Bharati Devi and uncle Shri Susanta Chattopadhyay, disciple of Pt Monilal Nag); later he received his extensive training from Pt. Amar Karmakar (disciple of Ustad Vilayat Khan Saheb); Hindol also received his vocal talims from Pt. Kalyan Bose and from Pt. Nidan Bandhu Bandopadhyay.Hindol Chattopadhyay is considered one of the most engaging, intelligent and talented instrumentalists in contemporary Hindusthani Music. The qualities, which he conjures up on the sitar with such ease, have so far earned him an international reputation of considerable distinction. His recognition as an artist is firmly grounded in his deep understanding of the classical style. His masterly conception of the grand design and architechture of the ragas has enabled him to innovate with in instrumental form, and this is especially evident in his creative approach to as Hindol created two ragas named PITAMBARI and ASHRUSINCHAN which are admired and approved by the A-TOP GRADED ARTIST VIDUSI KALYANI ROY of Etawa harana.

All these promise that Hindol has a bright and illustrious musical future.
