Indian Classical and Semi-Classical Vocalist, born in 1980, Moumita Mitra was fascinated towards the world of Hindustani Classical Music under the conscientious guidance of the late maestro Late Pandit A. Kanan of Kairana Gharana, under whom, she learned for few years. Since then, she has been learning from Sri Anjan Majumdar.
She possesses an outstanding voice and has a distinguishing Gayaki. Her music highlights more on the aesthetic beauty, development and temperament of a Raag.
Moumita, a graded artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan, is the recipient of National Scholarship and Junior Research Fellowship in Vocal Music from Ministry of Culture of India Government. Moumita is also an empanelled artist of ICCR and EZCC.
Academically, Moumita is a first class Bachelor's degree in Computer Science honours and a first class Master's degree holder in Classical Vocal Music.
Moumita has performed in several prestigious Classical Music Conferences in and outside India.
