Sayak was born in 20th May 1982, in Durgapur, West Bengal. Besides being graduated in M.A. in Instrumental Music (Sarode) from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata (2006) he also trained himself under the legendary musicians like Late Pandit Indraneel Bhattacharya and Mrs. Ameena Perera.
Participations and Achievements :
Recipient of the National Scholarship for young artists from the Ministry of Culture; Government of India 2005.Secured 1st position, in the Classical Solo Group (Instrumental) in the East Zone Youth festival 2005 – 2006 at North Eastern Hill University. Secured 3rd position in the National Youth Festival in Kurukshetra University – 2006.
Secured 1st position in the Instrumental Competition in the Maya Mitra Memorial Instrumental Music Competition – 2007.Participated in Workshops conducted by Rajya Sangeet Academy of Ustad Aashis Khan in the year 2005 and 2010. He performed in Kolkata, Bhopal, Durgapur, Alipur Duar, Delhi, etc. Empanelled artist for ICCR(Indian council for cultural relations).
