  • Born in a musician’s family Shri Pushpraj Koshti is a known sitar player of the country. He had his initial training in sitar from his father, Late Shri Ramlal Koshti who was the disciple of Ustad Hafiz Ali Khan of Gwalior. Early demise of his father put a break in his musical pursuit. However, the search of Guru was over when he came in contact with Ustad Zia Mohiuddin Dagar, the famous Veena Player who kindly consented to accept him as his disciple. The long asasociation with Ustad for more than fifteen years was very fruitful and Ustad also guided him very generously in mastering the technique of instrumental music. He is also one of the leading Surbahaar artist of the country. His rendering of “Aalap”and “Jod” is meditative and unique, there is no compromise with the tradition and purity of the style. At present he is taking guidance from Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar.

He has participated in various music concerts in the country and abroad as Sitar and Surbahar Player such as Tansen Sangeet Samaroh, Gwalior (1985, 1993, 1997, 2000, 2004) Aarambh Music Festival, Bhopal (1981)
