An “A” grade Ghazal Artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan, Bharathi Viswanathan was born in a south Indian family. At the very tender age of five, her basic training of music began under the guidance of her mother Smt. Girija Vishwanathan and father late Sri M. Vishwanathan.
After her initial training, she started learning classical vocal and ghazal under the tutelage of veteran Sarangi maestro and the holy guru Padmashri Ustad Abdul Lateef Khan Saheb’s elder son and renowned music composer Janab Anwar Hussain Khan.
A post graduate in classical vocal, Bharathi has given several performances in all the metros of India and has got most of prestigious programmes to her credit. She has earned a national fame amongst the music lovers with her beautiful and mellifluous voice. She has recently performed in Amritsar’s famous Durgiyana pilgrimage temple’s Laxmi Narayan Rag Sabha which was celebrated as a millenium Year Samaroh. Bharathi is truly the first and fortunate Ghazal Artist who was invited to perform there amongst a number of classical artists. Despite being a South Indian, a very good urdu diction and selection of classical and meaningful ghazals is one of her speciality.
It is a great and wonderful experience to listen Bharathi rendering Ghazals in her silky voice with prominent and melodious compositions.
