Bhargavi Banerjee is born and brought up in a musical environment. She is grommed by her mother (Sangeet Prabhakar) from childhood in Indian Classical and Semi-Classical Music. Her first performance of semi-classical songs on stage was at the age of seven where she was privileged of getting listeners like Begum Parveen Sultana,Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Ghulam Ali, Anup Jalota and Shipra Bose.
After quite a number of successful performances of Ghazal,Thumri and Bhajans,she gained the confidence of accepting the challenges of performing all types of songs. A good break took place in her musical career at a matured age.In a programme,Ustad Ghulam Ali personally appreciated her voice quality and advised her to perform only Ghazals,which suits her best.
She got the opportunity of releasing a few albums previously titled Nazme-e-Guldasta,Bengali titles Akash Hote Chai,Bhorer Aina and Kemone Gahibo Gan. Ghazal titles Rabab and Chupke Se are composed by Sri Gautam Debnath,where the compositions are really unique and she personally believes that all good listeners will enjoy the songs.
